My 2 westie pups aged 6 and 9 months will go for up to 2 days without eating hardly anything. They are perfectly healthy and full of energy. The food is put down and they have a sniff and a couple of mouthfuls and then walk away. Other days their appetites are fine and eat all that is put down. Is this normal? I am concerned that, as they are growing pups they need regular food. Anyone got any advice??
My dogs have never been food orientated and never seemed bothered with eating. They would even spit tasty scraps out and leave them on the floor. It didn't really change when we got a new dog, I thought perhaps competition would ensue. I changed them to Autarky and they certainly put on weight but still don't clean bowls like I see others do. They tend to graze rather than guzzle but are happy and healthy.
I feel that if your dogs are healthy then don't worry.
