After a lovely week off work, spent with the dogs and children, i woke on Saturday morning as normal and went to walk the dogs, on opening in kennels i found my lovely boy Chester dead.Sadly he had died during the night, from the dreaded bloat.
I still can't get my head around this, i had done everything as normal and i still can't work out why this has happened to my lovely boy.
He was only 41/2 and he now leaves his brother who he had never been apart from.
I'm still crying as i write this.
Goodbye Chester i will never forget you. You gave me such a good time as my first show dog and friend.
Karen.

Really feel for you :-( This happened to me with one of my Boxers everything was as normal fed as usual put to bed as usual and next morning he was almost gone. Vet came out and said bloat/torsion too late to operate so he was pts. I don't know what i would have done as he was 12 1/2 and had a heart problem so anasthetic would have been dodgy. Sometimes things happen even with the best of care {{{{hugs}}}}

Bloat! The evil bloat! It creaps up so silently and takes out babies!
My girl survied it, a narrow escape, thankfully!
My heart goes out to you and your other human and furry family members.
I'm thinking of you

Hi Karen,

Sorry to hear of your loss. 4 1/2 is no age but I bet he packed a lot of living and happiness into those years, and made you smile or curse on a regular basis.

Karen

Its so frightening, I own Akita's, and each night when i put my girls to bed, i hope and prey it won't happen. I soak their food but you can't be too careful. My thoughts are with you, what a horrible thing to happen xxxxx
