Today we gave Nella rest to save her from pain, she was one of life's special animals.
She was born to mother, she had two litters herself and then over the years she saved and reared so many babies. Including lambs, chicks, kittens and RSPCA puppies. Her special favourite was the kitten who arrived here 3 years ago at 6 weeks old, that kitten who is a full grown cat now was suckled and nurtured by Nella up until a few days ago.
All the litters that we had, had to be trained to Nella's exacting standard from being 4/5 weeks old. She first of all mothered them, then she kept them in their place until they knew their boundaries, then when she felt that they knew their limits she played with them!!!
We have known that the time was coming when we would have to say goodbye to her, she was diagnosed with a splenic tumour 8 weeks ago, and today was the day.
You lost your mate Pip a few weeks ago Nella, now you are together again. Play well together at the bridge till we meet again.
Love and miss you Neg Beg, who's going to train my babies now?
Luv
Mum and all your friends

What is dying?
I am standing on the sea shore.
A ship sails to the morning breeze and starts for the ocean.
She is an object of beauty and I stand watching her, till at last she fades into the horizon, and someone at my side says "She's gone", Gone where?
She is just as large in the masts, hull and spars as she was when I last saw her.
The diminished size and total loss of sight is in me, not in her.
And just at the moment when someone at my side says "she's gone", there are others who are watching her coming.
And other voices take up the glad shout " There she comes".
That is dying
