On Sunday morning our wee lad BJ died in a freak accident, he was only 14months old and to young to die. He felt no pain in his life. We all miss him so much that the pain in our heart's feel's real.
Sleep my little lad and have a good runabout in heaven where all the best dog's go. Will alway's love you Susan.xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Chris
Oh Susan
How sad that is, you must be devastated. But he never experienced any pain in his short life, so thats a great thing.
So Sorry

We are getting BJs ashes back on Monday. We are going to buy a planter and put his ashes in it,and then put a shrub or plant in it.It's been a very hard week and my little boy keeps asking for him as they were best of pal's. Time is a good healer. Susan
Thank You to everyone for their kind works.

Sorry to hear about BJ. I am dreading the day either of my babies go.
Out of interest, why have you decided to put the ashes in a planter?????

We were going to scatter his ases at his favourite walk but we don't want him all alone so were going to bury him in the garden but we may move house and he would be left so we thought about the planter. He won't be alone and if we move house he can come. We have never had a dog die before. I hope this does not sound awful as we only wan't to do right by him.

It doesn't sound awful at all, Robbie. The ashes of my previous dogs are in their boxes on the shelf (beside their collars) till we decide where to put them. I too wouldn't want to leave them behind if/when we move.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it

No, it doesnt sound awful at all. Sorry, going to be practical now. You will have to renew the compost every so often, otherwise the plants wont thrive. This will in turn, take the ashes. How about planting the ashes in a casket in a planter. That way you get the best of both worlds.when you renew the compost, the casket will still be there?????
Sorry if this has hit a nerve and am talking out of turn.

The ashes actually come back in a beautiful casket, with the name of the dog engraved on it. I too was going to scatter Blue's ashes (last December) and Red's ashes (this November) bad year! But when I got them home that's where I wanted them to stay. Where they were happiest, comfy and warm and with their family. I light a little candle for them often. So they sit together on a shelf, watching over the shenanigins with the new pup! Anyway, when I pop off I would like their ashes to go in my coffin with me.
Nothing that you feel could sound daft - believe me.
Take care

Now we don't know what to do with BJ. We are going to think over the next few day's and do what we feel is right. His breeder is sending us up a large photo of him and it will go up in the dinning room wall with all the velvet jacket's our other dog's have won. I know life is not the same anymore and Gary is talking about him more than ever (he is 4) he just want's him back. I got to be honest I try and not think about him but it's hard not to. Thank You to everyone for listening to me and taking time out to reply. Susan and Family

Sorry Robbie. I didnt mean to make you have to think about it more.
I hope Gary will remember him, but learn to except he has gone soon. It is so hard on the little ones.
Keep well
Lea
