I would like to breed my German shorthaired pointer who is now going into season. She is a fantastic animal and would dearly love for her to have puppies. She had a litter three years ago and we vetted the homes and still remain in contact with the owners of some of the litter. I am finding it difficult to find a localish stud (London, surrey, kent areas), I do not want to travel all the way to Norwich again. Can any one help?
email kim@hay-ward.freeserve.co.uk
thank you!

Welcome to the forum Kimbal :-)

There are several stud dogs available in the area's that you mention. If your bitch is in season already then I think that you may have left it a bit late to have time to research a dog that is suitable for your bitch. You mention that your bitch has already had a litter but don't mention if she has she had all the usual Kennel Club health screens eg: Hips and Eye's? Most stud dog owners that I know in these area's will be tested and only use their dogs on tested stock :-)

Thanks for the reply, yes my bitch has had an eye and hip score and she has had all her innoculations. Hopefully we will find a suitable stud, but if not this time we will wait until she goes into to heat next summer.

Try:

Mr and Mrs.Webb on 01959 573191 or Mr.Day on 01843 226876. If they can not help you, get back to me and I will make some enquiries. (I haven't got anything suitable here at the moment) :-)
You could also try the breeder of your bitch for a suitable recommendation.
