How do you know when a post carries on from a previous one that has been locked out? Apologies for messing up the pinch collar thread but there was no way of knowing it had carried on from the active message that was on the board when I logged on.

If I branched a locked thread, there will be a link in the locked thread to the new thread and a link in the new thread to the locked thread. Clear as mud? No need to apologise either.

Once I'd seen the old message I got the link but I still can't see the link on the new message that tells me there's an old message.
I'm confusing myself now.

The original Pinch & Prong collar thread was locked when it became inactive. I decided to lock it because we wanted to keep it as an information thread and if they get to large, they become unreadable. It was in fact in the FAQ Forum. I have moved it to Behaviour to draw peoples attention to it.

I get that bit. The bit I don't get is how I know there's an old one when I look at the new one? Is it always on the top in bold like the Pinch Collars one is now?

No, I have done that temporarily to highlight the thread. I have now put the thread back in FAQ and linked to it.
