Hi
if you are after a pedigree KC registered staffie then the price is usually more like £350 - £500 depending on the kennel & breeding
I do hope that you would rather have a Pedigree KC puppy, because you know then that they have been bred properly and should have no bad traits. The Rescue centres are full of 'pedigree with no papers' staffies, because people are just mating two 'staffies' and not considering any known traits or faults and do not have any history on parents, grandparents e.t.c.
Please consider this when you are buying a puppy, or ring your local Staffie club, they will stress the same things to you, I would hate to see yet another 'staffie' in a rescue centre.

I would also reccommed staff rescue.
I dont think it is nessecery to get KC if you are just buying a 'pet' that you are not going to show, stud OR breed. I have a staffy ped with papers but she isnt kc. We paid £250 - but that was cheap and the breeder had 2 litters on the go. £250 is cheap - although we got to see both poppys mum and dad - WHICH IS VERY IMPORTANT. both of them were brilliant. If you go to a breeders house, which advertise mum and dad can be seen, make sure YOU CAN see them, and they are not just bought in quick on a lead and rushed out again - due to bad behavoir. We saw the mum and dad for 10 mins. the mum was then put into the garden and the dad stayed while we looked / chose a pup. I would look to pay £300 - £400 pedigree with papers - where both mum and dad can be seen, £200 - £300 if ped not papers or mum and dad cannot be seen and £350 + KC ped and papers.
If I had known of the hundreds of staffs needed to be re-homed - o would have had a rescue - my 2nd staff will definatly be a rescue.
It is not always good to be able to see both parents....it means the breeder has used the most available stud NOT the best.
As for not KC reg...you pay for what you get...we have numerous people come on here and I see loads down the park etc that have therie 'pedigree' dog with them and it looks like a mongrel!!
Guest I would save a bit longer and pay the extra £100+ and buy a good quality pup from a good breeder. This pup will be with you for many many years hopefully...what is another few ££?? It will cost you the same to feed the dog etc regardless of how much you pay to purchase it.

I agree, I am breeding my staffie bitch this month and it will not be possible for the future owners to see anything more than a picture and the pedigree of the father as we are travelling from Wiltshire to South Wales to him.

I would be very wary about buying from a breeder who owned both Mum & Dad. I've owned both dogs & bitches in my breed for 25yrs & only once used my own dog because only once has he been right for the bitch I was mating. I'd also be wary of someone with more than one litter availalble at once. Giving one litter the right amount of attention is hard enough. If you buy from parents who aren't KC Reg, they won't have had any health checks done under KC/BVA schemes either. Buying a KC reg puppy isn't guaranteed, but you stand a much better chance of getting a healthy puppy who will grow up to look like the breed he is! It may save you money in the long run.
The wonderful lady that I purchased Sheena from(White German Shepherd now 4 months old) took several photos of the stud and also took some video of him working and training that she ended up loading on to her site. In this way we could see the movement of the stud along with still pictures.
