I've got two staffie girls and have been reaing your messages with interest then you just stopped back in October. I wondered if I could have an up date on how Charlie is getting on and to see if your method of leaving the room was successful.

Thanks for the welcome! I only have access whilst at work and forgot to check before I went home so sorry I did't get back to you yesterday!!! Has anyone tried the method of leaving the room when there dog becomes to giddy?

Also my oldest, Tyzar starts barking and attacking Dezzy (dog No.2!) when we are getting ready to go for a walk which drives me mad but more importantly I am scared that one day Dezzy will have had enough and they will start fighting. Has anyone got any advice?

When my boys were young and got giddy - we didn't leave the room - they did. This way they were deprived of our company on our terms not theirs.

It does work - only leave them out for a minute or two coz they only have short memories. Whenever they get too giddy - put them out again. They'll soon get the message.

I still do it with mine on occassion.

Totally agree with what Pam said, but would add that it can depend on the pup as to whether yo go out or they do!!!

We have a long living room and tried to get our pup Banya out; but it would turn into a game of chase and she began to manipulate us because of this! She got lots of fun out of it! That's why we tried the second option, and it did work for us. It can help too if you use a house line, a chain one is a good idea or else thedog may end upchewing it!!

I think if we had had a smaller living room the "taking the pup out" would have worked just as well; it's a kind of horses for courses situation I guess!

try to make them sit before you put the leads on them, i do this and it does work but it tock a few weeks to get them doing it right!
