Hi, All. We got an alaskan malamute pup last week and he was fine for the for the first 5 days, however yesterday he started having diarrhea and vomiting. Overnight he had left 6 piles of vomit and had been to the tolite 3 times, all stools were pure brown liquid, the consistencey of very runny gravy. His diet changed yesterday morning as we had run out of the food we were given by the breeder, he was also given a filled bone treat. The breeder said to starve him until tonight then feed him eggs for a couple of days but I have read that at 9 weeks starving is not adviseable. Should I just take him to the vet or try the eggs ????
If this pup is less than 12 weeks I would phone the vet, the pup may need the liquid replaced if he is vomiting and passing a lot of liquid. Don't wait till the morning ring now and the vet will advise if it can wait. diarrhoea & vomiting in it's self is not a problem as such but the loss of fluid is.
Realise you could tell if the dog was dehydrated Moonmaiden but we can't chance that the poster will
