Does anyone know anything about the OSCARs food franchise? What is the quality of the food like compared to the big brand names??
There is an extremely successful franchise in our village and I'm seriously considering using them as our food supplier - they deliver!! - but I don't really know much about the quality.
If any one has any opinions / information about them (good or bad) please tell me!!!
Thanks,
Fiona
I like them very much. The quality is good and my dogs like it. They should set up a test for you by bringing round samples of the food to see which one your dogs like.

Hi.
Oscar's came round to my house about a year ago having set up a franchise in my area. As Joan said they will bring samples to see which your dogs like. Trouble was my dogs (Border Terriers) ate the lot including the Rabbit and Hamster food !! It does seem a good quality food and delivery is definately a bonus. Good luck if you go ahead.
Dawn.
Thanks for your replies. Our local franchise is owned by a really good friend of mine - she works for me at the playgroup - and I didn't want to approach her about the food without knowing more about it.
When we get our pup I'll definitely be getting her round.
thanks again,
fiona
They also do mail order and will send you samples. If you wanted to you could get a couple of samples by post to decide what you think before approaching your friend.

I had a nutritional advisor at my local vets look at Oscars and she said it was as good as the leading brands.

I feed Oscars to my girls, I've been a customer for three years and I'm very happy with Oscars. I have the food delivered to my door and I find them to be a very reliable company. The website address is: www.oscars.co.uk and the telephone number is 0800 195 8000

And here I thought we had thoroughly discussed all the different feeding options for dogs!

Oscars sounds great!

Only one problem I can see is what happened here in one area of the North East when a few people were feeding Oscars, The franchise was lost (Why I don't know?) but the people feeding it then had to look for a different supplier.
They didn't do mail order then, but I suppose that get's by that problem then eh?
I don't have my Oscars from a local franchise either, it comes via the National Courier Network.
Oscars were marvelous when we were supplying a man who had hit hard times with food for his dog the dog was elderley so we decided best to keep him with the family that loved him and provide the food, the man from Oscars used to go every month and go in and check on the old lab for us and report back to us and the dog did really well on the food

I've been using Oscar food for Rory now for over 18 months and am very happy. Thay always deliver on time, Rory doesn't have such a bad wind problem (phew) and he is thriving on it!
I feed Oscar Food to six dogs - all enjoy it - eat well - sometimes I add gravy or stock to it but they eat it as well completely dry.
Large range of food available also biscuits and treats and more. Check out the website. Prices might seem expensive compared to other complete food but Oscar is very good quality so quantity given is less so works out well pricewise.

I recently contacted Oscars after reading this forum and recieved some info from them yesterday. They sent me very detailed info re all the different foods in their range (and it was all in english you didnt need a degree to follow it). The range is very wide and has something to suit every dog and every pocket and they included four different free samples for my dogs to try. They will deliver direct anywhere in the country if you do not have a local supplier and this is free if your order is over £25. I was very impressed and will be sending off for my first bag shortly.

Ditto
I got my stuff today - only problem is the boys seem to like all the samples they sent - something I've never experienced so I don't know which to buy.

Well, you could start with one and work your way round to all the different things they liked. At least your dogs will get some variety! I wonder, do dogs get bored eating the same food every day?
