Hi, I decided to give Champdogs another go! Have had a bad experience using the site over the weekend. Sure your not all bad hey? So far I do like the site and the chats. Don't you think it is great to be able to post your messages like this? I will be back to say hello!
By Jackie H Date 11.02.02 21:34 GMT
Julieann, can't find that you posted over the weekend, what has upset you? Let us know and perhaps we can put it right. JH

Hello Bumblebeeacres from a fellow Yank living in the U.K.!
By bumblebeeacres Date 14.02.02 18:08 GMT
Hi! Where from in the states? Have you permanetly relocated?
By Quinn [gb] Date 14.02.02 19:57 GMT
Washington State! My husband works for the DOD (Dept. of Defense) as a civilian. I can't say we've permanently relocated, just that we prefer living overseas at this time. We haven't lived in The States for the last 12 years, dividing our time between Spain & England. We prefer living in England! :-)
By bumblebeeacres Date 15.02.02 01:52 GMT
That is wonderful! Wish I could live in England for some time.
I went there once after highschool graduation. It was just as I had imagined it would be. Also the only place I have ever been where I got lost, and I've been to many places. Something about those winding London streets with a park on every corner. Hopefully one day I will be able to go back. Do they give you a hard time for being a Yank?
By Quinn [gb] Date 15.02.02 08:42 GMT
Nah. But I will always be a foreigner. :-(
By Leigh Date 15.02.02 12:46 GMT
Quinn, where did the term Yank originate from?
Is it an abbreviation for something? confused
By Quinn [gb] Date 18.02.02 16:27 GMT
Here goes nothin....

Yank

YEAAAAHHHH!!!! :D :D :D

Thanx Quinn, they say you learn something new every day.
I think that makes us even now, don't you ;-)

Ps, Fairy yes ....your mother.... no :P
By Quinn [gb] Date 18.02.02 17:51 GMT
No, not anywhere near even!

Okay, if you don't like the maternal role, how about IT Angel? Maybe Mark could put it on your Crufts badge? You still have time to make changes! :p
By mattie (*****) [gb] Date 12.02.02 10:43 GMT

By dizzy [gb] Date 12.02.02 19:13 GMT
you forgot your smiley!!!!!so i wasnt too sure and as the topic was already about someone not feeling too welcome i just thought id add my support :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)
see. now you know i'm smiling when im writing to you
By Quinn2 [gb] Date 12.02.02 19:16 GMT
But not showing your teeth, right?! I am, look! :D
By dizzy [gb] Date 12.02.02 19:23 GMT
joking aside it can help make the tone of the posting a bit more obvious as a lot can be taken the wrong way, which then starts more upset as others defend the person they feel its aimed at-i do appreciate that its not easy to tell and without tones things can be picked up wrong--didnt think my reply was that harsh:rolleyes:
By gina (****) Date 12.02.02 19:46 GMT
I dont know how to get the smiley faces can you tell me please or is it difficult? Ta Gina
By dizzy [gb] Date 12.02.02 19:54 GMT
i think its something to do with options, i cant show you cos if i put the bits in to show you theyd turn into whatever they meant-if you press the botton thats got the 2 dots one above the other then ) you'll get a smile . then the 2 dots and the thing ( frown-then sign under the 2 dots; and ) is wink, :then( frown---:then0 embarrased ---see if you know what i mean
By Val [gb] Date 12.02.02 20:24 GMT
At the top of this page click help, then scroll down and you'll see them!

:D :D :D
By gina (****) Date 12.02.02 21:11 GMT

By mattie (*****) [gb] Date 12.02.02 21:33 GMT

i'm still here and I will stay. Your all really friendly and your all right you do pick up so much to help you with your dog.
By Zicos Mum [gb] Date 12.02.02 11:15 GMT
Julieann,

I am VERY new, but so far have been made to feel welcome.

I must admit though, I'm scared of being shot down in flames! Some people seem a little fierce to me and I'm very careful now to re-read everything and try to see it from all point of view before posting anything. Surely it shoudn't be that hard? Or am I being a sensitive little bunny?;-):-)

On second thoughts, I'd rather it was like this than all sterile and polite!:D
By mattie (*****) [gb] Date 12.02.02 11:21 GMT
No your being sensible, everyone is welcome here, but some just jump the gun and go all defensive I say dont shoot first ask questions later, take a little time

Hello all -

Sorry to be so long to get back to you! Still finding my way around the site!

I wont go into the problem over the weekend no point dragging it all up again. Everyone can have their say thats life, but I did get very upset over the nastyness. But I know your not all bad?! Only kidding.

Gina no worry's about the speed cam thing. Thats what I mean you and I can differ thats life? And I do love getting into chats but this first time I joined it got a little unfriendly and I was ratther annoyed! I think the admin have taken the postings away as not to keep bringing it all up which is fine by me. That way we can start again!

I don't mean to be touchy? I am a little sensative, but no harm done. I look forward to chatting with you all at some point. (Oh and I have crap spelling so be warned! You could be sitting there all night wondering what that word ment!!!)

Kind regards

Julieann
By Jackie H Date 12.02.02 14:06 GMT
Julieann what's wrong, I get to feeling that you are not being upset by this board alone, I hope I'm wrong but if not, is it anything we may be able to help with. Together we have lived a lot of years we might have something to say that just may help a little. Oh! and my spelling is not so hot either, you give up in the end and hope people can sort out what you mean or should it be meen. Jackie H
By Julieann [gb] Date 12.02.02 14:18 GMT
Jackie,

Oh no I am fine really! Oh dear never meant to come over so sensatvie! I can also have a hard skin when I want too!

But thank you for your kind words. I am not upset with the site any more over and done with now.

Just looking forward to having chats and reading about your dogs.

I've not been posting here very long either, and perhaps don't answer many postings - mainly because I don't feel that I have as much experience with dogs as the others, but compared to other boards I've visited, everyone here is positively angelic :D!

Julie Ann

Have not been here long either and can see what you mean it can get a bt heated at times.

I think it is important for us all to remembr like you say that we are all entitled to our own opinions but stick with it
the advice and support you get here is well worth it - without champdogs my second dog would probably have
been rehomed by now - sometimes it's just nice to knw that there's someone out there who understands
and who might have a diferent perspective on things which can be very helpful - you know try another angle or approach type of idea.

Hope you stick with the board - so far every one has made me very welcome and there's some really interesting stuff on here
By the way my spelling is really poor too and what makes it worse I tend to type like I'm talking to you instead of using good grammar!!

Hope this helps you feel more at home. They seem like a pretty good bunch really!

Kirsty

Too bad Mark can't put a spell checker tool on the message page! :D
By Zicos Mum [gb] Date 12.02.02 16:33 GMT
Now there’s a good idea! It would save me having to copy all my postings into Word, spell checking them, then copying them back into here :D
By bumblebeeacres Date 12.02.02 16:40 GMT
If we cleared up all the misspelling, I think posts would lose some of their flavor. I find some of the mistakes down right funny, especially when they are mine!
By patricia [gb] Date 11.03.02 16:30 GMT
nice one about the spelling myself sitting with dictionary
out on every- sentence .

I keep getting lost on this site you all seem o.k. guys to me.
By Zicos Mum [gb] Date 11.03.02 17:16 GMT
Patricia,

I know what you mean! Took me days to find my way around. Now I just click on Active Topics at the top of the Board and it shows whats currently being discussed, not sure if you've found that yet :-)

happy reading!
By Brainless (Moderator) [gb] Date 12.03.02 12:57 GMT
I use active topics, or if in a hurry new posts! The second option can be difficult to follow if you can't remeber the thread!
