Could I please ask all members to re-read the forum terms and conditions of service.

http://www.champdogs.co.uk/html/terms.html

Please pay particular attention to the recent additions:

Please avoid being judgemental or condescending in your posts. Many people arrive at this forum looking for advice because they have a problem or have made a mistake. Please be constructive in your replies and address the solution to the problem. Do not simply criticise the poster for having the problem, as this serves no useful purpose.

Be tolerant of others views and opinions. It is far better to agree to differ, than to continue an argument ad-nauseum, when it is obvious that neither party will change their viewpoint.

As well as the following:

Please keep your language clean and decent. This includes personal inflammatory language as well as obscenities.

This forum system is not a venue for personal or private vendettas. Keep your personal business as just that - personal. This forum is not a venue for personal disputes.

And then ask yourself if you can honestly say that you adhere to all of the terms whenever you post.

Please note the name of the forum is the Champdogs Information Exchange. The forum exists to advance the sharing of knowledge and nothing else. If it ceases to be useful in this respect then it will cease to exist.

With that in mind I will have no hesitation in removing any member, no matter how long-standing, whose posts create an atmosphere that is not conducive to the forum's aims.

Good reminder admin. I`ve felt replies to questions have been rather cynical or/and condescending & nit picking! & made me feel like not bothering to add anything. I`ll be happy to oblige & hope others will too :-)

If someone cant offer help then best say nothing

Hi Admin
I think the TOS is far too mild - thought it is sad that we have to remind some people to be civil.

I too like Christine am happy to oblige.

Shame people dont really read this! Seems loads of people are having ago at others. People just come for help/advice and then get slated. People should think before they write as some of he posts are hurtful.

I find the Admin of this site very fair and willing when it comes to censoring personal attacks.  If you think any posts have overstepped into that territory you can click on the Misc button on that post and report it and I know they will give it their consideration.  However if it is just a matter of people being upset because an opinion has been stated that they do not agree with then I am afraid that is not against the TOS.  Of course there is no reason why they should just lie down and accept it either ;-) there is nothing to stop them refuting the opinion and giving a rationale as to why they do that is what an exchange of information is all about :-)

i would like to applaud your comments about conduct to other members. there is far too much negitivity in the dog breeding circle and new devoted breeders in particular need somewhere they can get help and advice, without being judged and ridiculed . cool

Thanks admin only having by chance come accross this post have I again started posting,I thought a forum for people to offer help with their experiences not be torn apart by other members and made to feel humiliated

Just clicked on your list of posts and don't see why you might be upset or feel ridiculed from the discussions you have taken part in????

Maybe didan and curly are speaking generally.  We all need to avoid making patronising or condescending comments to those who just come looking for a bit of help or support.

With the solely written word, without the additional help of facial expression and verbal inflection, there's always a potential problem with interpretation, and umbrage is taken where no offence was intended. We all need to guard against reading more into posts than is actually there. :-)
