Special thoughts to everyone here at champdogs who has lost that special four legged friend

Christmas Without My Dog

The tree is all trimmed.
The gifts are all wrapped.
The hymns are all sung,
Ant the travel plans mapped.

And still there's a sadness
That lies in your heart,
For a dog that was lost
And a love now apart.

A stocking is missing,
With toys and a treat.
A lap is now empty,
A space at your feet.

Yet remember this season
God's small gift to you,
Wonderful memories
To treasure life through.

Your poem is lovely,i am very upset at the moment as this time last year my beloved dog had stopped eating, but still wanted to go for walks, she spent most of chrismas in the vets hospital, came home new years eve as she had eaten half a tin of chappie, but she never ate again and was pts 27.1.04.My heart is broken.

Thanks for posting this, I had never seen it.

Christmas is going to be very hard in our house without our beloved Lacey - she was such a Christmas loving dog.
Adored the parties, the fancy dress, the food, the visitor and most of all her Christmas hat.
