Someone has just phoned us up, as they have had a fax reputedly from us, wanting the recipient to vote on a premium rate line to ban fox-hunting. I knew that people like PETA raised money for TB from weird sources, but this is going too far.

If anyone else receives a fax on these lines, be assured it is not from me.

And while I'm on the topic - how can anyone get a fax number the same as ours - you electronic wizz-kids?

I believe fax machines can be set up to show any number they like, just like an email client can

If you get any more calls then I would contact the phone company or, if the receipent of the fax does not want to give you their phone number then get them to contact the phone company and complain.

I'm pretty naive really - I didn't realise you could set up your e-mail adress to just show anything - is this what you mean?

I wasn't the premium rate number, though (the mind boggles), just the sending number at the top of the sheet.
