As some of you may have read from my previous post, my elderly golden retriever sam has been ill and this evening my mum and OH took him to the vets knowing the inevtibale may happen, and it did. Sam was in peace at 6.15 this evening. The vet did an exam and said he thinks he had spinal damage (due to a disease; a dont know what because my mum is not medically minded unlike myself) and that is why he had trouble with his back legs. He also had a mass around his liver/kidneys. There was nothing that could have been done and so now he has crossed the rainbow bridge.
Sam, you have been with me through all the good and bad times. You have seen me grow from a child to an adult, and have been a last link between us and dad. You can now play free without worry or care with Holly, Beethoven and the other dogs who will become your best friends. Love you always you stubborn little monkey. I have a space in my heart that is always yours.
Nicola
