what are the pro's and con's of studding
we have a five generation pedigree, brindle, male boxer, who will be 2yrs in november we have been told by a breeder that he has a lovely colour and markings he is a super dog and I'm unsure if all this could change if he gets a taste of what it is used for so if breeders could email me back with there own experiences I would be very greatful so we can decide what to do.
what is the best age to breed is he too young?
also we have heard boxers are prone to testical cancer is this a rumour or is this true?
please email us as every little bit of information will help thankyou for your time Tanya

This post will give you a good insight into what is involved but to be honest unless your dog has done well in the show ring, owners of quality bitches will not be approaching you.  It is the bitch owners that select the pairs for mating and they have a wide choose of winning dogs in the show ring to choose from.  Any bitch owner who does approach you are likely to have been rejected by other stud owners on the basis of poor quality, lacking or poor health results, not the sort of genes you would want your boy's to be mixing with :-)
