Previous Next Up Topic Other Boards / Feedback / Replies getting thinner?
By LeanneK (***) [gb] Date 06.07.05 16:26 GMT
Is it just my pooter...  the longer a post gets the thinner the replies get, with only 3 words on each line.
By Melodysk (Moderator) [gb] Date 06.07.05 16:46 GMT
It depends, if you reply to the last post then the replies WILL end up over towards the right hand side of the page...in order to make them go the full length again, just press the REPLY button on the very first post ;-)

But that won't work if you want to reply to a particular post, because only the one you click the [reply] button is shown then - or is that just on my computer? If you want to read the whole thread you have all the long thin ones as well ...

If the thread is very long and the posts are all over to one side, reply to the first post anyway, just make sure that you address the poster that you are replying to rather than just replying ..I will give an example here ;-)

But it doesn't make the ones that are already thin any wider ... :-(

No, that is impossible JG ...unless you can do magic of course? :-) But you CAN start the width again ...

Youm won't ahve this problem if you read the posts in 'Active Topics' and press new posts next to the title.  the posts will then be in order of being written.  If ylur not sure which post is being addressed, click post title and it will show it as you see it now.

I always use Active Topics but I never, ever use NEW POSTS because it can be very hard to see what is being replied to ;-)

Just seeing if I "get it" by doing an experiment.....
By LeanneK (***) [gb] Date 07.07.05 16:19 GMT
By Jove Ive got it!!! Cheers Melodysk and everyone else.  Theres no way I can make other peoples posts bigger but I can make sure mine are full width of screen by replying to OP message. ;-)   Think thats right.... *scratches head*

To make the posts bigger, click on and drag the sides of the text panel (the yellow bit) outwards.

Thats not working for me.
By Julie V [gb] Date 07.07.05 16:39 GMT
Are you dragging the right place?  Where the pale yellow meets the blue.  Not in these actual boxes but over there > and there <

You would laugh if you could see me now, Ive got my tongue out with concentration ha ha ha  Nope I have put my cursor everywhere but it wont let me click and drag. :-(

Why is it when sometimes you reply to a post which isn't at the bottom it takes your post to the bottom instead of underneath the one you have hit reply too.  Other times it puts it where you want it.
By Melodysk (Moderator) [gb] Date 07.07.05 17:34 GMT
Your reply will ALWAYS be under the post that you replied to. Sometimes, if you reply to a post that is halfway through a post, it can make it look at bit weird as you describe ;-)

I am having the same problem with posts disappearing off to the right and i still dont know how to stop it.  Where do you drag to box to make it wider?  Am I thick?
