Another "Nanny State" policy! Question, is it legal for one country that is a member of the FCI to make unilateral rules? I always thought the FCI themselves made the rules!

Well, if a flatcoat produced 20- 30 litters in his life, we would reckon he was being grossly overused. What would you think with GSP's? Depends on the population size, I guess. Brings in another point of discussion in the wisdom or not of flocking to top winning dogs. I know what I think.

It.s been done Jo, I could point to several who have done just that and it's bad for the breed! We can't stop people, that's why we need the breed clubs and KC but at the same time legislation is not the way to go. IMHO

I can think of several dogs that have been used in my opinion, far to much Jo. The gene pool is tiny , but that is no excuse for everyone to run out and use The Latest Champion is it !

I also agreee with John I had the email about dutch breeders a few days ago,but there are often too many litters from one dog,often I am asked to take in rescue dogs which have been bought from a local Kennels (a glorified puppy farm)
I always file the pedigees as they are not passed on to adopters,one particular dog has sired hundreds of puppies,he is on nearly every pedigree,these puppies are sold without any regard for where they are going I have taken in a twelve week old puppy this week who had been bought by a family who were working 9hrs a day and they were smacking the puppy for messing in the house (they themselves told me that) and sure enough he is by this same dog,in an ideal world this just would not happen but whilst there is money to be made the powers that be dont care, these are the cases when some KC legislation would help (Puppy Farms) the Kc are restricting litters from bitches but not stud dogs i'm sorry I have gone off the subject slightly but it makes me so mad
