My vet is currently checking the costs for me as I mentioned to him the difference in what you were charged and what I was charged last time. Something just occurred to me though did your titre test check levels for Parvo, Distemper, Hepatitis and Lepto ? I'm thinking if it wasn't for all 4 then maybe that's why your's was cheaper ??

They said that they didn't do the Lepto - probably because the immunity only lasts three months or so anyhow, so will always come out low titre????

Worth asking your vet if he knows.

Did the other three, tho'. Would the Lepto one be so expensive to make up the difference? What was your Lepto titre?

Still waiting for vet to come back to me re costs, I reckon I'll probably have to chase him up.

Lepto result was no antibodies detected at 1/100 so no immunity and vaccination was recommended. Will check with my vet if it is really worth getting lepto tested and also what his current thoughts are on vaccination. From memory I'm sure he said that he gives his labs their puppy vacs, their first booster then he tends to boost every couple of years or so. He breeds his labs and works them.

Jo I've been quoted £45 for the 3 viruses to be checked however if I decided to get lepto done as well it jumped to £80, as I got all 4 tested on my bitch that would explain the difference in cost. My vet thought it pointless getting lepto tested, as you said it often has a low result anyway so we boosted his lepto and got the 3 viruses tested. Results due in a couple of weeks or so.
