My dog got hold of a raw carrot and he had a great time chomping away on it. Is it okay for him to eat raw carrot?

Most dogs enjoy eating carrots - apparently they can't digest them though so if you wanted him to get any goodness out of it you would need to pulp it.

I give them as treats, they have nutrituional value if frozen or juiced, as the dog can't digest vegetable matter that has not been broken down, but raw carroits are a fun treat with few calories! My fussy bitch will sell her soul for a Raw carrot or a Banana.

Funny story here. I am looking after my friends in season 7 1/2 month old Dobe pup. She can reach things my dogs can't.

I had bought 4 or 5 pounds of Bananas on special from the Greengrocer. On getting home after a short absence Rossi the dobe had pulled them out of the veg rack that is on my washing machine, and judging by round tum, Kizi had devoured at least some of them :D

I give my two a carrot a day, just as a treat. They're also great for stuffing into a kong as they can eat so far down and then have to really try for the bit that's left.

We give our three girls carrots all the time. Min the middle one has an iffy tummy. This is the only thing that seems to agree with her. If we gave her biscuits etc we would have a disaster on our hands, or should I say on the floor ! It was a recommendation from my vet as his dog suffers the same as Min.

Mine love the little baby carrots....especially on a hot day & the carrots are fresh out of the cold fridge.
