Previous Next Up Topic Dog Boards / Health / Capelin & Tapioca food made by Pedigree
By Pam Ayling [gb] Date 19.04.02 19:52 GMT
Due to one of my bitches having a allergy my vet has sold me Capelin (white
fish I believe) & Tapioca perscription diet made by Pedigree petfoods.
I'm changeing Kiera over gradually from Lamb & Rice (glutten free) made by Highlex.
Has any one used this complete food before?
If so did the dog's coat, skin improve considerably?
Also someone locally told me that their was a fish & potato based complete
food - does anyone know what brand make?

Many thanks
Pam

Hi Pam - Dizzy is quite correct it is Wafcol that make the Salmon & Potato complete diet. My westie bitch who has allergies is on it at the moment.

If you look up Wafcols website it shows you all the varieties that are available.

Pam what breed of dog have you got that has the allergy?

Bonnie has inhalant allergies (house dust mite and grass pollen) and a slight allergy to soya.

Hi
Kiera is a Pharaoh Hound. Skin problems / allergies are unusual in the breed. She will be 7 in June.
She is also taking tablets to relief irritation.
+ has a weekly bath with Allermyl shampoo (made by Virbac).
The 3 kilo bag I have - was charged £12.07 for by my vet.
It does smell good!
I read in a magazine that Techni-Cal make a vegetarian food formulated with soy & potato and carrot.
I will check out Wafcol & Techni-Cal's websites.

Hi Pam
This is the gold plated food that the vet also told me to buy for the mockodile. It is Waltham. I have changed onto it from James Wellbeloved as the smells coming out of the mockodile were horrendous and I can say it has given him more normal poos (he has a terrible stomach unfortunately) and it has improved his wind etc.
However it is £33 for 9KG of dried food which is pretty expensive.

The fish and potato I belive is one of the Walfcol varieties (salmon & potato I think) which incidentally we are going to try before being tied to the Tapioca & Capelin (mmmm!! Appetising) for ever after. Mockodile is only 5 1/2 months old though so will have to have the Wafcol junior.
