Has anyone ever thought of having a CD irc channel so we could chat in real time? Lots of sites have them and you could have a java client embedded in the site so that we'd just have to click a button and we'd join the room and all be able to chat properly. Would also be useful for any problems ppl had that needed an urgent response.
Was just a little idea, not sure if admin could do it. What do you all think??

Oh no, the very reason why I like CD is because of the set up, if you go in a chat room (which I very very rarely do) you feel like you can't leave your chair in case you miss something, but with a message board, you can type your post and then go and make a cuppa/pour glass of wine, and then slowly work your way back to the computer to carry on where you left off!!

Besides, I don't know about anyone else, but I spend quite a bit of time going through older posts, sometimes from a few years back, you wouldn't be able to do that if there was a live chat, poeple would ask their questions in the chat room instead of on the boards and then no one else would benefit from the answers given.

Not for me, I'm afraid.

Why not set one up for CD users yourself? Or create a MSN group so that people don't have to fiddle about with IRC
