My BC has hay fever...I have to keep her indoors as much as is possible when we have a high polllen count.

Hi Karl

Yes I do believe that some dogs suffer from hayfever.

Occasionally one or two of my BT's get the sneezes at this time of the year, particularly when they stick their heads into undergrowth.

I find that it also depends on the type of weather and different years seem to cause different dogs to sneeze. So maybe some years different pollens are around in quantity.

Regards

Jayne

As dogs can get hay fever and if your dog starts again, check the pollen count. You can get human anti histamine tablets from the chemist and try giving the dog a course of those if it keeps re occurring.

for the replies she has been fine since it started raining:d (doesn't it always)
will keep an eye on her.
It does seem to be after the first walk in the morning Daz after putting nose to the ground,so do susspect pollen
Hope sun comes out again soon to see if it re:occurss (hope fully not) cool

The only other thing it might be is if your dog has come into contact with 'anti mate' spray? One of my neighbours uses it on her GSD bitches so that she can take them to the park in season. When my dogs sniff where her bitches have 'marked', they have severe sneezing fits .... one of these days I will tell her just what I think about her 'anti-mate' spray mad

Thinking about it, many sprays can cause sneezing. I can use the waterproofer in my garage with the door closed, come upstairs & Samma will be sneezing like crazy. Not Chienne though. I've used Windex, Bathroom cleansers, hairspray...all in other rooms...ditto.
good luck,
toodles cool
