Henna is just wonderful, but you must be brave (or slightly mad!) to have 2 at same time!!!!
When new pup arrived last week Henna sulked for 24 hours & refused any cuddles or attention, but now she has discovered the tripe in his bowl is yummy, they get on great & even cuddle up together at night times. I have never had a cat quite like this one, she is such a character, fearless and so so cheeky. I hope you havanna gives you as much pleasure. Out of interest, whats the breeding of him/her?

Hi Sam,

I'm afraid that I accidentally e-mailed you, so apologies to Leigh.
Hi Sam,

Definitely mad, not brave:-) In fact the Korat was a last minute decision, and I suppose a sort of consolation present as I had to let one of my deerhounds go to a new home. Until she was 3, she was devoted to her sister, but then things went wrong, and as the sister is bigger it was becoming a tragedy waiting for a place to happen. The people she has gone to are good friends and deerhound lovers, but I still feel bereft.

Please give Henna - and the hounds - a cuddle for me! She is Seido, bred by Sue LLoyd

Funny but my deerhound girl is being positively horrible at the moment, really short & sharp with everyone & picking fights. She seems to be just starting her 1st season at 14 months so will allow for that at the moment.
Checked Henna's 4 gen pedigree, seems mainly Skwiglee/Trelgandorf going back to Gd.Ch. Sharue Sun Prince & Gd.Ch Summerdown Cream Blaze. Henna sends big MEOWS (she does a lot of that!) to you. Be warned, the 1st few days with an oriental are deafening.....they seem to meow at top volume for hours....but its just for a day or two then it stops. I was about ready to take her back to the breeder after the 1st 24 hours!

I 'll take your advice in that case, and pinch Ian's ear defenders :-) I hope your deeerhound girl settles down. I've never had a a pack problem before, and I sincerely hope I never have one again. The good news is that my hound's new family 'phoned today, and they were ecstatic about her. Better still ther smaller hound that was being bullied is coming out of her shell at a rate of knots, and it's wonderful to see it.

BTW how are your deerhounds bred? We might be related after all :D

Hi Sam, I was lucky to get one of the last Intershare Icarus bitches as my foundation bitch, and have gone mostly to Shenval since, with some Rosslyn

Congratulations on your new kittens - your a brave lady!
Sorry to hi-jack your thread a little but i was wondering if either of you had any advice for me re: my bengal kitten/cat. She is now a year old and has started to really bully my 3 year old SBT. Most of the time they are fine together and play quite happily, but if Kuga (cat) decides she wants into Cleos bed she jumps her, and cleo moves. Now it has got to the stage that whereever cleo is the cat wants to be adn keeps semi-attacking her so that she will move. Now all the cat has to do is give cleo the eye and she will slink off looking all submissive!
Can you suggest anything that will stop her doing this? Also, as i have a new pup on the way i don't want kuga to think that she can have whatever she wants (though she doesn't hurt cleo just shocks her i think)
Plesae help if you can!

Hi Cleopatra, I hope that someone can help with this, but I can't. We had two ancient moggies that died about a year ago, and th dogs were devoted to them. One slept under the biggest wolfhound's chest on cold nights, and the other used the VERY senior deerhound as a bed each night. All I can offer is the best of luck for getting your problem sorted.

Most of the time they get on really well, and cleo is quite happy to share her bed with kuga, but kuga has now decided it's her bed and hers alone - well, where-ever cleo is is now hers! Wonder if it could be jealousy? She gets very annoyed ythat cleo gets to go out for walks, and tries to follow us a lot of the time.

think this is just a "cat thing" & you may have to live with it! Sorry
