Hi please does any one have any advice!! I have a 14 wk old pup who demands my every attention putting onto practise or the usual im trying ignoring her and turning away from her at the moment this is really annoying her but hopefully having some impact im having to do this as she constanlty bites me and barks at me for attention she only does it to me and not my husband she is as good as gold for him, the one thing im struggling with though is this grabbing of my legs and clothes as im walking she is driving me spare!! if i shout at her to let go it makes her worse, if i remove my clothes from her moth she just comes straight back and ive tryed ignoring her however she rips all your clothes and it's very difficult to ignore dragging a 14week old retriever around when you walk what i normally have to do is remove her mouth and drag her kicking and screaming into another room but this is all the time and shes driving me crazy!!!! any suggestions please before all my clothes are shreds and i have lumps out of my legs and ankles many many thanks  sue.

Sounds just like Willis - only he's a 3 year old Great Dane, weighs about 15 stone, and is STILL doing it :D :D

Hi guest

Are you doing any training with her.  You can try to Chanel this energy into the sit, stand, down and walking nicely giving tempting treats from her daily ration while doing so.  She is trying to get your attention like a naughty toddler and it is stressful but if you can channel this energy into good things at least some of the time she will get the idea that good behaviour gets treats and attention as much if not more than bad behaviour.

Like the sound of that. What do you do, squirt them with perfume?
Sorry, couldn't resist :D
Guest, have you tried replacing your clothes/flesh with a toy - I usually get one of those cotton ragger/tugger things & push that into their mouthes when I've extracated myself from their grip.
She is only doing it for attention, so if you shout at her/ push her away, she's won because you are giving her the attention. Difficult & annoying, I know but she will grow out of it if you don't reward her & are consistant.
Good Luck

Hey Anwen

I changed that with an Edit, darn spell checker. obviously didnt work.  I find one of the cheaper perfumes works for mine usually tabasco sauce LOL!

Has she got something really nice of her OWN to carry? A LOTof Goldens are so retrieve orientated they literally go nuts if they can't carry something about all the time. I never see mine without anything in their mouths. Swap her for a toy when she does it.
