You are not going to be able to buy a puppy from a responsible breeder 2 days before Christmas.  Responsible breeders will also want to be reassured that you want a dog as much as your son does as no child can be truly responsible for a live animal, even the law recognises this, at the end of the day the responsibility for the dogs well being will rest with you.
