could anybody help with information on poisonous plants to avoid
with young whippet, we are shortly going to spain , and would like
to know what to be aware of? any info would a great help.

those big palm trees that are all over the place - the leaves on those can be poisonous if your dog munches on them.  Can be, anyway - I have a few smaller ones with only a few leaves (about 10" leaves at the mo) which my big dogs have taken great joy in munching to no ill effect, but the 'adult' plants' leaves may be another matter.
