I often glance through the bankruptcy orders of my regional paper in case anyone there owes me any money....lo & behold there was someone who owes me a couple of hundred quid yesterday. Anyway, can anybody please tell me why she was listed under "High Court of Justice" instead of the local county courts like all the other bankrupts. Will this affect my chances of getting any money??? All legal beagles welcome to contribute to this thread!
Thanks

Well, I do like walking through cemeteries taking pictures of gravestones on freezing winter days :D :D My hubby thinks I"m certifiable. ;-) :p

I agree with said hubby :D :D :D :D
Why freezing winter days?
Oh Well I suppose it would be even stranger if you did it at night. ;-)

Visiting the mother-in-law at the time and NEEDED to get out of the house :D :D Dogs & hubby gladly went, lasted about an hour with me & then spent the rest of the time waiting patiently in the car :-)

Sara, my hubbie collects old cars that don't go, plays the bagpipes, curls (as in running after big stones on ice with a brush), teaches Scottish dancing and shoots bows and arrows. I know he's certifiable :-(

Sharon, your hubby & mine should get together.
Mine runs around in his skirt (oh yeah, kilt), puts armour on, & beats people up with large sticks :D :D :D His archery skills are excreble, though. He's tried. Canna hit the broadside of a barn!!!!
He'd love to play the bagpipe, but can't master my Chanter & he's very tone deaf. He'd also love to run around on the moors, but there isn't a military base that he can go to in Scotland :D :D The one that's there doesn't have his job field :-(

Not so much a "hobby" jackie, just one of the perils of self-employment, and many years experience has taught me that the earlier you get in there, the more chance you have of getting your money!

Just leg pulling Sam, know all about people going bancrupt on you, once the Inland Revenue, the DSS and the bank, who probable caused the trouble in the first place, have had their cut the rest of the creditors can usualy go hang. Some no doubt joining the queue to be the next poor souls listed under the liquidation column. JH

I like grave stones too, especialy old ones, have nearly missed the odd wedding through my obssesion. Odd wedding, now thats another story.

Sam , now off the top of my head it could be that it is a large amount of money involved as Sheriff Courts are limited to a certain amount.. It is also common where it is Tax or Vat issues..
or even an issue outwith their jurisdiction.

There are a few different reasons..

Debt management is not one of my Niches that I store in my head. unlike ( CONTRACT :-))) )

My head only holds so much ..

You can contact as you will probably know and find out some info..

Hi Sam ,

Do you know what High Court it is as you can call them direct..speak to a sheriff clerk and they can tell you where the papers are posted and what the procedure is.. I believe they are posted at the court dealing with it for approx 28 days this allows time for any creditors ( YOU) to make a claim...

Best call them..you can tell us how you got on so we all know..( Not the outcome just procedure)

I would have had a good look into it for you but I have exams all week so I can't spare more than a couple of mins..so I better get off here also..

BFN

Pamela
