Sadly Rosie died after a short illness back in May. I found it very hard to come to terms with and still shed an occasional tear but can now talk about her and think about the happy times without getting choked up. The house was empty without her so we decided to look for another puppy of the same breed. The process of finding another dog helped me focus on the future and not the past. Our new puppy has a very different personality which helps me to see her as a new addition to our family rather than a 'replacement'. It is very hard when a dog dies unexpectedly at a young age and it is easy to beat yourself up and think why?and what if? and if only?... But we do the best that we can at any given time within the situation we find ourselves and thinking like that only makes things more difficult to come to terms with. Rosie was very much loved by us all and died despite having the very best treatment available in a veterinary hospital. I feel very relieved that she died very suddenly and did not suffer.

Time is the best healer. I couldn't even talk about Rosie for weeks without floods of tears, and it was a couple of months before I could sort out her photos etc. Now I have 2 beautiful pictures in the hall so she is with us all the time. Hope you will get over loosing your staffy in time and be able to think back fondly of the happy times you had together

So sorry you lost Rosie so unexpectedly and so young. I'm glad you can think of her now and remember how dear she was to you. She's running free now and probably acting like a puppy.

A Bridge Called Love (Author unknown)

It takes us back to brighter years
to happier sunlit days
and to precious moments
that will be with us always.
And these fond recollections
are treasured in the heart
to bring us always close to those
from whom we had to part.

There is a bridge of memories
from earth to Heaven above...
It keeps our dear ones near us

It's the bridge that we call love.
