Our beautiful, gorgeous, happy girl was gently helped on her way to the bridge this afternoon. The sweetest, gentlest of girls who loved and trusted everyone and who died surrounded by her family, both canine and human, because there was no dignity left in Life. This last battle was impossible to win.

Goodnight, my sweet girl. I'm sure Bella and Polly will be there to play with again. We loved you so much and miss you so badly. Sleep well; we'll see you in the morning.

I'm so, so sorry JG.  I did wonder when we did not hear from you but I did not dare ask.  What a treasure you have lost but what a wonderful family, human and canine, she found herself amongst for her long and happy life.  Your pain is the price we pay for loving them.  I have no doubt many a tear will be shed on Champdogs for you and your family this evening.

I'd like to say thank you to everyone for being so kind, both on the Forum and via PM. It means a lot, even though I break down and blub at each message! :rolleyes: I know we did the right thing, but she's left a huge hole in our lives and a gaping wound in our souls. I know from experience that time will make it easier to bear, but right at the moment that's small consolation.
