I found my beautiful girl this morning, she was just two years old. She sleeps in the room next to me and when I left her at 11.30pm she was well. I can usually hear her snoring or mooching about through the walls, but last night she hardly made a sound. I am so shocked. I lost my husband Darren in July to a brain tumour, so I know the pain of loss, but this has just devasted me. My son went in to let her out for a wee, and shouted me for help, but she just lay there. I have never wailed and cried so much in my life. I feel like my world has falled apart, my heart is broken. Her belly was a little swollen, so I assume it was bloat that killed her, but she didnt make a sound, surely she would have been in pain? If she had whined or cried out I would have gone to her and maybe she could have been saved? She looked so peaceful and beautiful. My Dad buried her in the orchard between two apple trees. I dont think I'll ever get over it, her best friend and companion Ruben is missing her terribly. She was the most gentle loving Dogue De Bordeaux I have ever met and I love her with all my heart.

What a sad , sad time for you, so sorry.
The reason a dog has so many friends is that he wags his tail instead of his tongue.

That's so sad. You must believe she's found Darren straight away. Perhaps she heard him calling to her in the night and because of that, she wasn't frightened or in pain, just pleased to see her Daddy who she's so missed. I'll bet they have had that great big hug now and are now at peace together. ((((((hugs ))))) for you too.

What a terrible shock for you and your family. It is never easy saying goodbye to our pets, but so much more painful when they are still young. Thinking of you and your son, love to you both
just one more walk..please
Thank you everyone for your heartfelt messages. I feel much stronger today, I am sure that she didnt suffer. It was funny, last night I heard a man cough in my room, I wasnt asleep, just laying with my eyes shut. I think it was a little message, from my late husband. I am 100% sure that if he could have, if it was at all possible, that he would have been there to comfort my girl as she passed over. I have four boys and I think its brought back the loss of their Dad, the youngest is only two and has been asking wheres Izzy? I told him she was in the sky with Daddy, and he said 'my Daddys poorly, he's a star. Izzy died and Daddy died' It near broke my heart. I have put Darrens story on a web page called gonetoosoon.co.uk if anyone wants to read our story, PM me and I'll give you the details. Thanks again for your support, it means a lot xxxxx

Im so sorry to read of your loss...
