We lost our darling GSD Ellie on the 30th of November (haven't been able to bring myself to write about it before now).
She was only 6 years old.  She'd had a soft cough for a few days, which didn't seem to be getting any better.  Took her to the vet, who booked her in for an x-ray and endoscopy the next day.  Unfortunately, the x-ray showed very advanced lung cancer and an enlarged heart.  We decided to have her pts there and then so she woudn't suffer.
It was just so quick.
She was a lovely rescue we got at 18 months old, so we only knew her for 4 years.  She will be sorely missed.
Sleep well Ellie.

How sad to lose her at such a young age but you had the courage to let her go and prevent her from suffering.
I came into this world with nothing & with careful management I've managed to keep nearly all of it

So very sorry to hear about Ellie. It's especially hard when you lose a young dog very suddenly but you made a brave, selfless decision.
Treasure your memories of her :-)

What a beautiful girl.  So very sorry for you especially as she was so young.
The reason a dog has so many friends is that he wags his tail instead of his tongue.
