If I am looking for an out of print book I always visit Abe books first ...I went there and put the authors name in for you ..this should give you the link :

I found it on www.amazon.com but that would involve shipping it from the states.

Don't be put off - I ordered a book from the States and it was here within two weeks with no problems!! :-)

I buy the majority of my nappies from the states and they always arrive very quickly. The only problem I've ever had has been having tax added as the box wasn't labeled properly. I got the tax back without any problems though.

Kash
I regularly buy out of print sporting books and recommend a fabulous site called www.bookfinder.com.
Its easy to use and brilliant, you can find books that are totally obscure/out of print etc just with one name of the author etc. Over the years I have bought over 50 books via this site.
by the way....what is "hidden post unnapproved"? Keeps appearing on this thread, I am intrigued.
By Kash [gb] Date 26.06.02 21:22 GMT
I haven't got a clue Sam- I can't view it either:( I'm just as intrigued as you are:confused; At first all the posts were hidden? Now they all seem to have came up except that one? Thanks everyone I'll try- I have been on Amazon and searched myself couldn't find it though- will go back for another look:)

It's not hard to work out Mel, the 'help' section has clearly explained it already :-)

Admin have to approve threads posted on the 'Bring and Buy' forum.
It is one way that we try to stop 'spamming'.

We do not work 24 hours a day ~ 7 days a week and believe it or not, we do actually have lives away from the site :D

Try going to book shops as well, my mum goes into them when she is on holiday looking for gsd books for me and the last one she brought back was a first edition book about the metropolitan police dog training est, where i used to work, the history about it and old photos of how the place used to look really interesting, she found that on the isle of white!!! so keep your eyes peeled even ask them to look for them as well if you can.
By metpol fan [gb] Date 26.06.02 21:55 GMT
Stacey i will keep my eyes peeled for you and if i see it and its not going to break the bank i will get it for you and i can send it on.
By Kash [gb] Date 27.06.02 17:19 GMT
Thanks everyone I really am dying for this book but any of you that have a look at trying to find it will have realised that they are few are far between:( On the thread Christine posted the other day 'Absence of Young Blood'- I said I had emailed the GSD league to see if they can include a small ad for a fee- they haven't even bothered to get back to me and it was over a fortnight ago:( I was wondering if any GSD enthusiasts had it and were prepared to sell it or an ex breeder perhapsconfused

Diane that's another reason why I want it- the CH Jacnel Nacale- my breeders first foundation bitch is also in there;)

I got an ad put in the British Boxer Club's newsletter
and they came up trumps.
I had a phone call and got the Volume one of the British Boxer Club's
Record Book.
Perhaps it wouldn't hurt to put an ad in Dog World or Our Dogs
or even in the breed notes?
The thing that I find most sad is that when people pass on their
relatives that aren't 'doggy people' probably just throw books/leaflets out. Thinking that they are rubbish and no-one would want them.
I've had great fun locating all my breed books and I'm still collecting.
Hope you soon locate your book and never give up
Kindest Regards
Kirstine
PS I'd probably be classed as young blood (although I'm just the wrong side of 30 now :-) )

Thanks Dizzy- may as well wait for the new revised edition then- I'll look on the net for articles on genetics in the meantime:)
