Yesterday my beautiful girl was pts to save her any further suffering. My heart is breaking and I miss her so much, although I know I made the best decision for her it still hurts just the same. Abby was a Golden Retriever, my first Goldie and because of her she will not be the last. She was the most loving and loyal of dogs but also a real clown when she wanted to be and had the ability to always make me laugh even if it was something naughty she was doing, she had that cheeky grin!! I first contacted Champdogs when Abby was poorly with a tumour in her spleen, that was two years ago! I received lots of advice from you all especially "enjoy every day you have with her" which I did, she was still going out for a walk everyday up until the last week or so which was good considering she was nearly 14! I have read some of my old posts one of which was written in reply to a person asking which breed of dog they should buy and I sobbed my heart out when I read my reply I also laughed at the same time which is typical of a life with Abby. I still have her daughter, Penny, who is very unlike her and also a new puppy who is so like Abby it's untrue. I'm pretty sure Abby didn't leave us until she'd shown the youngster all her bad habits and tricks, and how to look after mum when she'd gone.
Thank you Abby for nearly 14 years of love and laughter, you really were one in a million. Good night my beautiful girl, wait for me at the bridge!

Really sorry to hear your sad news. I hope that the puppy has learned well from Abby and she will keep Abby alive in her antics.
The reason a dog has so many friends is that he wags his tail instead of his tongue.
So sorry for you. Its 12 years since I lost a dog but can still remember the pain. Take care.
