Brainless/ Barbara had a good day yesterday & has to return today.
She won the champion stakes with her Elkhound bitch & with her other
bitch won the reserve c.c.

Pharaoh entry was POOR only 5 entered with no c.c.'s - judge was a
Bassett man. 4 turned up, 2 dogs & 2 bitches.
Litter mates Dexter & Yonnie won Best dog & Best Bitch. Dog was B.O.B.

I stayed to watch the hound group - Gavin Robertson won with
Ch. Afterglow Woody Woodpecker.

Sorry Sam I didn't get to see you.
I see from the catalogue a Belgium Bloodhound champion was entered &
also a old friend of mine from the Isle of Wight - Janine.
If I'd have known your exhibit number I would have made a effort to find
you.

The Belgian went BOB as indeed, she did at Crufts.....put a few noses out of joint!!!!!! I only managed 4th out of 5 so not a good day.
Took 3 hours from Devon to Windsor in friends state of the art Volvo
(242 miles) but took 6 hours to get home thanks to all the holiday makers & those flamming caravans! Told her we should have gone in the Landrover.
By Pam Ayling [gb] Date 30.06.02 23:32 GMT
Being a detective I've sussed out you were in Open bitch !
And your number was the highest of the bloodhound numbers on
page 55 of the catalogue.
Correct?

Yup, open bitch but no idea where I was in the catalogue, I didn't look!! I think I was 4161 or something......my Cornish friends kept the catalogue.

Thanks Sara, no, he was a good boy, a very good boy, my Sister who came to Bath with me turned up yesterday and was a bit put out as she said she was expecting another good laugh, and he behaved really well. Don't think he's sick. I'm going to an open show to day we will see if the good behaviour is here to stay or just a blip in his career as a hooligan. Got your shopping for you, hope it is OK if not I'll get it changed at the next show think East of England. Will take it with me Monday or Tuesday and you can see for yourself. Best of luck with the interview. Jackie H

I missed seeing you too Jackie & I did watch some of the Elkhound judging.
I talked to Julie & Jack & Barbara - did you not see me stood about
with a Pharaoh at ringside?

Well I was back at windsor today having been able to cadge a lift in the back of a van carrying dobermanns!

I felt really at home as my first venture into showing was in the Working group with a Groenendael, and also seeing Siberians, Valhunds, Malamutes, Samoyeds, finnish Laphunds, all cousins to my Elkhound!

The champ stakes winner today was the Fantasa Rotweiler, and Friday's was a Bulldog! The eventual overall winner was Ch Barbelka Eliksyr, the Elkhound!! Trying to get a decent photo was another matter, the more we fiddled, prodded and poked the worse it got. when we went outside the ring for more photos of just the dog, I moved her around on a loose lead and she walked into a lovely stand, and stayed still for several photos! Typical stubborn and very tired girl!

Now where've I heard that affix before? Congratulations:D
LynnT
By Brainless (*****) [gb] Date 01.07.02 01:12 GMT
Don't know LynnT :D

I don't know how I will go on at this posh affair they have for the finals, when all the different champ show Champ stakes and Veteran stakes winners have a glorified match with posh frocks and junketings!

I am not a posh frocks person :D Unless it is a tent!

Will have to practice using cutlery properly, as usually it is just a fork/spoon in one hand with the other holding the plate/bowl on my knee in front of the box!

BarbaraVery well done, I tried all evening to get the result but it would not come up, all in all a good showing in the stakes for the elks, bet your feet wont touch the ground today.
Pam Sorry I missed you, we were sat on the open side of the ring and I would think that is where you were, we were a bit boxed in by toy cages and toy people grooming but I was there right through out judging and I do of course know what you look like. Are you at E of E if so I'll make a special effort to find you. You werent the only one I missed took loads of stuff up to pass on to people and could not find one of them, when I was looking for them they were probably looking for me. Jackie H

By Brainless (*****) [gb] Date 01.07.02 16:30 GMT
Jozi enjoyed meeting the cousins too! I beat a hasty retreat as any second we were going to have a cavorting Elkhound and malamute!! :D
