I don't know if any of you here read the books of Dean Koontz (mainly horror stories), but I have read him for many years and indeed have read all his books. Several of them feature dogs as large parts of the various characters' lives.

I subscribed to Dean Koontz's newsletter from his personal website some time ago, and loved it when I realised that he often pretended that his dog, Trixie the Golden Retriever, had written the messages in these. It showed clearly how attached he was to his dog. The newsletters gave me many a smile.

I've just received the latest newsletter and the news that Trixie has died. If anyone is interested, there is a lovely write up complete with photos HERE.

Its funny you know, that tribute could of been written by any one of us.(about our own dogs). yet we can never find just the right words...but Dean did.

My favourite author, and Yes Watchers my favourite book. I always look out for the dog in his books, even when there is no dog (because it will always be there, even in passing!) How sad, and how sorry I feel for him right now. What a nice guy though - obvious from his tribute to Trixie
