For those who asked.....Holly is progressing at a good rate! I am hoping to let her off next week when the telemetry arrives, until then she is learning about lure catching....you know.....the fancy swinging stuff you see at game fairs, except its a lot harder than it looks!!!! Today she got frustrated with her silly slow old Mum & took off from the tree before I was ready for her and tried to land on my head. Ouch. Then the next time she banked like a fighter plane, gave me a hard whack on the side of my head with her feet and caught the lure in mid air! ouch again! may invest in a crash helmet at this rate!

Not found book yet, Telemetry? quess it's a sort or extending lead, bet I'm wrong. Glad she is doing well but it sound as if you had better pull you socks up and stop teasing you bird. Oh! are you allowed to use your head a bait or are we going to hear you have had a visit from the RSPCA. Jackie H

Sorry Jackie, I was waffling on without explanation as usual.....telemetry is a transmitter fitted to the tail feathers so that if she disappears, I can, in theory, track her with the receiver. I am not going to let her off without it but having a new transmitter made up for me which will be a day or two arriving. At present she is still on the creance (a sort of thin braided line about 100 yards long).

Oh! a sort of radio wave extending lead. Hope the heads better. Jackie H

Excellent - G.P.S. for a hawk. Maybe I should get one for the kids then I'll never lose them.

On second thoughts maybe not :D :D :D

Sam, just me being silly, afraid my imagination takes off with out my brain. I did understand what you meant, an electonic tracking device. Do they do one for husbands, sorry at it again. JH

You may well laugh, but in the USA they market them as "ideal for relatives with dementia".....now that conjures up a whole new idea doesn't it???? You can also get them for cars/dogs/cats etc etc. Will also be using mine for trialling....its always been a huge worry to me that my hound is two fields ahead of me and in a strange part of the country.

Thats the trouble with hounds, they move quicker than we do. JH
