I've entered this show in August, well it's only 383 miles away eek

Does anyone know of a reputable B&B that accepts dogs? There is a list in the schedule which I'll check tonight when I go home but in the meantime if anyone has any recommendations I would be grateful rather than having to trawl through the list in the schedule. FYI the show is being held at the The Welsh Showground in Builth Wells. The nearest travelodge is in Ludlow and it's fully booked.

Ta Muchly! :-)

Claire

Have you tried the AA's website? On the search facility you can specify that you want the B&B to take your dog.

This is how I found the one I stayed in when I went to Derbyshire with the TH.

Thanks Kate. I had looked on the AA's website, it only brought 2 up for Builth Wells both a wee bit expensive for a doggy trip :-) I looked Powys up and it brought 53 up but as I don't know the area at all I don't know how far away they all are from the show ground. Looks like I'll have to ring them all up :-(

You could try:

[link]http://212.134.55.132/farmstay/home.asp?m=1&ty=11&pv=32&ft=1[/link]

As these are working farms, they don't all take dogs.

Or:

Good luck.

p.s. If you do a search there have been lots of other suggestions in the past for finding pet friendly B&Bs.
p.p.s On smooth hound (2nd link) you can do an advanced search which allows you to choose an area and specify somewhere that takes dogs. I did it and it came up with 25 places in the right area.

Thanks again Kate :-) I'm looking at the sites now.

Clare, I've done the same thing, I don't have so far to travel but I'm not too sure I can do it in one go. But I'm sure you can't, have you considered a tent, not trying to be funny I'm sure there are camp sites who have room if you chose one say 100 miles away you could leave the tent up and stay again on your way home clutching your Green card. You can get tents now that erect themselves. (NO I am not adding to that comment.) Hope you sort something soon. Jackie H

Hi Claire

I have just booked a B & B for When I go in September in Builth Wells, I think it was called Summergil.. I will try and find the piece of paper I scribbelled on with details, but it was only £15 pppn., and they were more than happy to take the dogs...

Also there is one called Cwm Rhuddan Manion which again are not that far from Builth Wells and qoted me £27.50 pppn.

There is a website which I used called www.stilwell.co.uk

They give you a list of all the hotels/guest houses etc that take dogs.

Sob Sob
I've not entered as it's my son's 11th birthday on hound day/friday 16th.
I would liked to have entered as the judge is from Norway.

Pam
p.s I won't miss the grotty roads to get there! (narrow & twisting)
