My ex husband took his GSP to the vet this morning for what was to be a routine minor op on his foot. He passed away on the table. He was only 5 years old :-(

Connor was a rescue GSP and came with a few issues. He was really a loving dog, and lovely to look at. I can't believe that a fit, healthy dog is no longer with us.

R.I.P. Connor.

Terrible news, so sorry to hear this.

Well, we collected him and he is now buried in the garden beside the other dogs. On speaking to the vet it appears that he may have had a history as they had a huge file from his previous vets. If that was the case why did they go ahead with what was not an essential op? He had a growth on his foot that was being removed, but wasn't life threatening. He could have lived with it.I'm probably angry due to shock, but surely they could have checked his file before operating? Sorry for the rant. Probably shock.....

I know what you are going through...I too lost my dog Skye at a very early age. Please don't let the anger eat away at you. Hold on to those precious memories and cherish them...You will see Connor again one day...
